Our
Commitment to Quality
To
guarantee that our customers receive
the best quality Xylitol products available,
Emerald Forest Sugar Inc. inspects every
step of the production process.
C5H12O5

Xylitol
is a five-carbon sugar that is found
in most wood products. Extraction of
Xylan Hemicellulose from wood is a technical
and expensive process. We have chosen
to use corn cob as the raw material
for this extraction. It is cost effective,
and being a renewable resource, does
not require the cutting down of trees.
Note: Xylan Hemicellulose does not react
with people sensitive to corn. Only
manufacturers using substandard extraction
techniques can compromise Xylitol’s
purity, thereby causing allergic reactions.

Our
first priority was to find a quality
manufacturing plant that was located
in an area where the corn source was
non-GMO and the farmers did not use
chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
Our company personally inspected farms
in many locations and ultimately selected
an area in the Henan province of China.
The farms there are managed by families
who have been using the same techniques
for generations. By hand planting their
corn between rows of vegetables and
trees, and rotating all crops every
season, they are able to maintain a
soil quality that provides an environment
resistant to insects.

After
harvest, the farmers remove the corn
kernels, and lay the cob out in the
sun to dry. Once dried, the cobs are
put into large burlap sacks, loaded
onto the family’s horse drawn
wagon, and sent off to the factory,
thus creating a substantial cottage
industry for local farmers.
The
factory chosen for the source of our
Xylitol is privately owned and managed
by residents from the same area where
the corn is grown. Our manufacturer
takes pride in having a modern facility
that does not contribute industrial
pollution or waste to the environment.

The
production of Xylitol uses a natural
ion-exchange interaction of hydrogen,
hydrochloric acid, and steam. The waste
water from this process is used for
mushroom farming adjacent to the factory
itself, and the pulp is used for fuel.
This
modern facility maintains the same high
standards required of all pharmaceutical
manufacturing companies world wide.
All production is contained within an
environment that requires the operator
to pass through three separate decontamination
zones just to enter the manufacturing
area. My own inspection of the facility
required the same process, and included
the wearing of a “hazmat suit”
to prevent contamination of the machinery.

All Xylitol factories require in-house
laboratory testing of their final product
to certify FDA compliance. To insure
that there are no discrepancies in testing,
we have contracted with an independent
laboratory here in the U.S. to confirm
that all previous testing was accurate.
Once we are satisfied that our Xylitol
meets all government regulations (pharmaceutical
grade), it is then transported to our
factory in Broomfield, Colorado for
packaging and redistribution.
Emerald
Forest Sugar Inc. maintains the same
standard of quality that goes into the
manufacturing of the Xylitol. We do
not add flow agents to facilitate the
packaging process. Our machines work
on a gravity feed only. We invite you
to visit our facilities or call us with
any questions that you might have. Thank
you for taking the time to read through
our product catalog.
